From 27th to 29th March, Sun Qikun and Zhang Jihan from the School of Culinary Arts won the first prize in the 8th Hotelex Rising Star Chef Competition in the Western Art Cold Dishes and Western Main Course respectively. The Competition held in Shanghai was hosted by the China Cuisine Association(CCA), and undertaken by the Catering Education Working Committee of the CCA.
The Competition aims to promote the technical development of culinary students and young teachers in Chinese vocational colleges, build a platform for Chinese young professional chefs to develop international culinary technology and step into the international culinary arena.
The competition is an individual competition, a total of more than 600 players from all over the country to participate in seven events. Combined with the scoring standards of World Skills Competition, the Olympic World Culinary Competition, the National Vocational College Skills Competition, the competition organically developed the scoring rules for each event.
In the preparation stage, a team was set up with Chen Peng as the instructor and accurately studied the requirements of the competition and prepared for the competition actively.
The excellent achievements demonstrated professional skills of the students, and further improved the discipline recognition and industry influence of our catering personnel training.
