Yang Qiao, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources of Shangri-La Hotels&Resorts, and her delegation visited the college recently, and the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the integration of industry and education.
Vice president Zhang Zongguo participated in the discussion and said that the integration of industry and education is a key path for the high-quality development of vocational education, which plays an important role in promoting talent cultivation, industry research and social service.
As a world-famous hotel management group, Shangri-La Hotels&Resorts has established a good cooperative relationship with the college for more than 20 years, and has given great support and help to the college in terms of teachers’ further study, job internship and employment recruitment, etc. It is hoped that both sides will continue to deepen the integration of the school and the enterprise.
Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on expanding internship and employment cooperation with Shangri-La hotels and enhancing the internationalization level of talent cultivation.
At the end of 2023, 22 students from the School of Hospitality Management have been sent to Island Shangri-La Hotel and Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong to carry out job internships.
The proactive professional attitude and solid professional ability of the students were highly praised by the employers, which is an important manifestation of testing the quality of the school's operation and the level of talent cultivation.
