The 14th National Tourism Colleges Service Skills Competition was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, from 23 to 26 May, and the college won the group prize with the first overall score at Tour Guide Service event.
Zhang Lingge and Wang Huimin, won the first prize of the tour guide service in Putonghua, and Liu Xiaoyu and Zhang Huiyuan won the first prize of the tour guide service in English
The competition was organised by the Tourism Education Branch of China Tourism Association and hosted by Zhengzhou Tourism College.
A total of 883 contestants participated in the competition, and they’re from 303 institutions of higher vocational colleges and secondary schools in 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government.
The Tour Guide Service includes theory assessment, tour guide explanation and talent show, which examines the players' professional skill level and quality comprehensively. All our four players achieved first prize with profound knowledge, good spirit and stable on-site performance, which was unanimously praised by the judges.
Since 2010, the school has won four first prizes for seven consecutive times in Tourist Guide Service event of the National Tourism Colleges Service Skills Competition, with a total of 28 first prizes, realising a grand slam in the event.
The school of Culture and Tourism will take this chance to give full play to the leading role of skills competitions in talent cultivation, and cultivate high-quality tourism technical talents who can adapt to the digital transformation and development of culture and tourism industry.
