The college invited Professor Zhao Kun, director of the editorial department and editor-in-chief of Qilu Journal, and Professor Zhao Kun of Qufu Normal University, to hold a lecture on the topic of “Writing and Publishing Humanities and Social Sciences Papers” recently.
During the lecture, Professor Zhao Kun started from the definition and types of thesis in humanities and social sciences, composition and writing, submission and publication, etc. He gave a detailed explanation on the selection of thesis topics, abstract condensation, argumentation and reasoning, pointing out that thesis topics have to grasp the principles of value, innovation and appropriateness, and learn to make a big deal out of a small topic.
Combined with his many years of experience in journal editing, Professor Zhao carefully analysed the common problems faced by journal paper submissions and put forward suggestions on how to improve the hit rate of paper submissions.
The lecture deepened the teachers' understanding of high-level journals in humanities and social sciences, expanded their academic horizons, improved their academic qualities, and had a guiding and reference significance in promoting the teachers to produce high-level scientific research results.
The lecture was co-organised by the Research and Development Office and the Teacher Development Centre, with more than 60 teachers attending the event.
